accommodation IN ISTANBUL
This is where you can add your recommendations for hotels, serviced apartments and other facilities in Istanbul.
If a new comer want to explore the Sultanahmet area..i highly recommend the four seasons hotel...the location is excellent.. it's a short walking distance from the major attractions..actually if it was any closer u will be staying at ayasofya...
The hotel used to be an old prison..abandoned for a long time.. and only been operating as a hotel for 20 years. The sunset at the roof top car with the call to namaz echoing from 4 different places is just amazing..

One of our families highly recommends this apartment in Beyoglu through Air BnB.
This is a great place for brunch (also a boutique hotel with family rooms) at Tuzla, 20 mins to the Princes Islands and 20 mins from the Sabiha Gokcen airport. It's called Tuzla Yat Kulubu. It's about 3 and half hours from Ankara by car. There is a website and the number is 02163951747.
One of our families highly recommends the Corinne Hotel in Beyoglu, near the Palais de France and the Venetian Palace.
The Vault Hotel (part of the House Cafe brand) Kadikoy offers great room rates including breakfast in a good location off Istiklal.
One of our families has recommended this serviced apartment in Beyoglu. It accommodates five people.
There are also a couple of books produced each year on small and boutique hotels in Turkey, including in Istanbul. You can buy them in Bookish in Ankara and here's a website link for one of them with suggestions for hotels in Istanbul:
http://www.kucukvebutikoteller.com/eng/results.aspx A number of families have stayed at the Pera Palace hotel which is very well located in Beyoglu and within walking distance of the Pera museum, the furnicular, the Bosphorus, Galata Tower and the famous shopping street of Istiklal, It has a lovely high tea and an excellent French patisserie shop.
This apartment is in a really central location in Nisantasi, has a parking spot nearby and highly recommended by one of our families.
Many of our families have stayed at the Adahan Hotel in Istanbul. It has family suites and a spectacular terrace at the top of the building where you can have meals. It is close to public transport and within walking distance of many of the attractions of Beyoglu (Pera museum, Galata tower etc).
