ISTANBUL
Istanbul is not the capital of Turkey but it is the largest city in Turkey in terms of population (14.2 million) and the most well-known in terms of business, culture and history. Istanbul is also the only naturally transcontinental city as the Bosphorus Strait, which connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea, divides the city into an European and Asian part.
The climate in Istanbul is a mixture of mediterranean climate and a humid climate.
Winters can be very cold, foggy and snowy. Summers are hot and humid.
